Today’s inktober is this weird, henshin thing. Could end up being a fun series to do though. Today it’s ballpoint pen, which is actually a medium I quite like. I love it’s versatility in shades and textures.

Today’s inktober is based off of a scene from the 1931 Dracula.

More inks! I’m doin’ things! I discovered this big shield bug staring at me through my window the first time I ever opened the blinds at the new place and oh how it startled me. Turns out poor little guy was long deceased, so I got to get a good look at it and discovered it’s eyes and head were surprisingly kawaii. Seriously there were little shinies in it’s eyes, and it kind of looked like it was stuffed into a big cable knit sweater.

Taking this inktober thing a little more seriously now. I even busted out the shades of grey pens that I have never messed with before. Reminded me of storyboarding classes long ago and using those oh-so-ready-to-instantly-run-out-of-ink copic markers.

I’m super late to the inktober party. To make up for it have a bunch of cruddy Sherlock sketches! I’ll do better next time guys, I promise.

Rendered art is a gorgeous sight to behold. Your eyes (at least, my eyes) get all gooey and detail-happy and it gives an otherwise nice illustration an extra boost.

Arzach by Jean “Moebius” Giraud, page 33-34. EYEGASM!

In comics, however, this…

I did this sketch ages ago and never did anything with it. The awesome Owl familiar was done by Max C Steiner. Mayhaps one day I’ll color it?

So if we have to show women what the baby looks like in their womb and tell them how the process works before allowing them to get an abortion, does that mean we should teach our soldiers about the culture of the lands we’re invading, and explain to them that the people we want them to kill have families and feel pain, just like Americans?
